I Ranked All Of Vanessa Abrams’ Outfits So You Don’t Have To – Season 1 Edition

The final outfit ranking of Gossip Girl season one , and I can’t believe it’s over already (don’t worry, there’s five more seasons for us to get through yet). This week we’re taking a look at Vanessa Abrams’ style.

I’ve never been a fan of Vanessa, Dan Humphrey’s long-time best friend, documentary filmmaker and just general all-round goody-two-shoes. Vanessa starts off as a nice enough character but quickly evolves into someone whose “holier than thou” attitude sees her ruin every relationship she’s ever had and fleeing to Barcelona and never returning.

Vanessa’s style is as loud as her personality, full of bright colours and clashing prints. A lot of the time it works because it’s her wearing it, but if anybody else tried to pull off one of her outfits they would fail spectacularly.

As usual, anything not considered an actual “outfit” is disqualified. This is going to be a pretty short ranking as Vanessa does not actually appear in all that many episodes of season one, but enjoy nonetheless.

17

Too many clashing prints and colours and the hoodie just looks really cheap.

16

I like the scarf a lot but really hate that striped shirt. It looks like a pajama shirt.

15

Poor Vanessa. She only gets to wear one fancy dress in this entire season and this is it.

14

Top half = good. Bottom half = what are those pants??

13

I feel like Vanessa is the only person in the entire world who could wear this shirt and not have it look like a rejected costume idea from an 80s theme party.

12

The jacket kind of looks like something the Pink Ladies from Grease would wear but I can still get on board with it.

11

A really nice top. Just a shame about the stupid thin scarf. It’s not Vanessa’s fault, though – everyone wore those damn things in 2007.

10

The nightmare pants are back, but the top they are paired with is really cute so they get a pass this time.

9

The chunky gold jewellery looks great layered over this top.

8

I like the sparkly material of the jumper paired with the layered gold jewellery. The colour scheme of this whole outfit just works really well.

7

I’m putting this outfit here for that necklace alone. It’s *chef’s kiss*!

6

I actually think these clashing prints work really well!

5

I like more feminine dresses toughened up with a leather jacket. It’s such a great look.

4

I’m a bit on the fence about the silver cropped jacket, but I think it just works with this outfit. I like the dress and the leggings so much though that it still gets this choice spot on the list.

3

Everything about this outfit works so well. I love the colours and the layering.

2

Such a great dress! It’s a shame Vanessa didn’t get more lovely outfits like this throughout the show.

The layered gold necklaces really elevate this outfit into being something special. Also blue and pink always look great together.
